Texas Veterans Commission Announces the 2023

American Job Center Business Services Unit Team of the Year

McAllen TX- Workforce Solutions (WFS) is proud to announce that its Business Services Unit (BSU) Team has been recognized as the American Job Center BSU Team of the Year. This award recognizes the team's partnership with Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Veteran Employer Liaisons to provide outstanding employment, training, and placement services to veterans.

The award requirements concentrate on BSU teams that demonstrate outstanding customer service, effective communication, and teamwork with JVSG staff to enhance the success of veterans served by WFS. This award is sanctioned by the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training to encourage the improvement and modernization of employment, training, and placement services for veterans. It acknowledges eligible employees and employment service offices that excel in providing these services or making significant progress in improving service delivery.

"Our Business Services Unit Team's recognition as Team of the Year by the Texas Veterans Commission is a testament to their hard work and dedication in serving our veteran community,” said Francisco Almaraz, WFS Chief Executive Officer. “We are honored to have such a talented and committed team, and we congratulate them on their well-deserved recognition."

“I've sought assistance to job search at Workforce Solutions in Edinburg over the past couple years as needed and have been very fortunate to always have my questions answered by Workforce Solutions staff,” said Daniel Rosales, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.

At WFS, veterans receive priority of services and may access a variety of employment, job training and related services. In addition, WFS staff help veterans identify and assess the valuable transferable military skills that may help them obtain employment in high demand jobs and industries.
