The purpose of the 2024 Largest Employer Report is to identify the principal employers within the WFS service region, to help guide efforts as it relates to education and economic development. The data within the report was obtained through Workforce Solutions (WFS) business intelligence, Lightcast, Texas Education Agency (TEA), and the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS).

Every month, Workforce Solutions (WFS) distributes a report with local labor market information, employment statistics by industry, and workforce system insights. Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS)
The state LAUS data and unemployment statistics are model based which includes the Current Population Survey (CPS), continued Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims, Current Employment Statistics (CES), and other statistics. Use the chart below to observe the monthly civilian labor force, employment, unemployment, and unemployment rate estimates by state, county, metropolitan area, workforce development area and many cities, by place of residence. Use the filters to narrow the scope of the data by area and date.

Current Employment Statistics (CES)
The Current Employment Statistics (CES) program produces detailed industry estimates of employment, hours, and earnings of workers on nonfarm payrolls. CES State and Metro Area produces data for all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and about 450 metropolitan areas and divisions. Use the chart below to observe monthly employment estimates for the nation, state, and local areas. Use the filters to narrow the scope of the data by area, date, and specific industry.
