Child Care Services Waitlist

 

Current Status: Waitlist In Effect

We are currently not accepting new applications for Child Care Services (CCS). We have reached the maximum number of children we can serve under our CCDF Child Care Fund (CCF) funding.

Why Is There a Waitlist?

Demand for child care assistance is high, and funding is limited. Because of this, eligible families may need to wait before services become available.

Estimated wait time: 12–18 months or longer.

Being placed on the waitlist does not guarantee that services will start within this timeframe. How long a family waits depends on:

• Funding availability
• The number of families already waiting
• The family's position on the waitlist

We know waiting is hard, and we appreciate your patience.

How the Waitlist Works

• Families are added to the waitlist in the order their application was received.
• Your place in line determines when you'll be contacted next for an opening.
• When funding becomes available and your family reaches the front of the line, a Workforce Solutions Child Care Staff member will contact you with next steps.
• At that point, you must be ready to promptly submit a complete Child Care Services Application along with all required documentation.
 

Am I Eligible to Join the Waitlist?

You must meet minimum eligibility requirements before being placed on the waitlist. Requirements and required documents are listed in our Child Care Services Waitlist Overview:

Important Note

If your child care services were previously terminated due to:

• Excessive unexplained absences, or
• Unpaid parent share of cost

...you must wait 60 calendar days from the termination date before you can be placed back on the waitlist.

This site is the public access point for waitlists, new applications, and recertification applications.

All important information about your child care scholarship will be shared through the Texas Child Care Connection (TX3C) Parent Portal, which is powered by KinderConnect.
