MCALLEN, Texas - The Fourth Annual RGV Job Fair is serving as proof that unemployment rates continue to drop in the Valley.

The latest statistics from the Texas Workforce Commission show the upper valley unemployment rate at 6.2 percent and the lower valley right now sitting at 6 percent. While those rates are higher than the state rate of 3.7 percent, Workforce Solutions says they expect unemployment to keep dropping.

Mike Gonzalez, Texas Workforce Solutions says, "Obviously we helped a lot of people out. We're hoping to do the same this year, so that we can create some opportunities that we can share within our   community to help everyone flourish."

Partnering with Workforce Solutions and South Texas College, PSJA students on the course can earn a Jobs Readiness Certificate. In addition, UT-Rio Grande Valley students in the Society of Human Resource Management help the PSJA students by conducting mock interviews.
